Salesforce Connector for eDiscovery & Data Collection
Collect and search Salesforce files and metadata for eDiscovery, compliance, and investigations seamlessly. The Onna + Salesforce Connector gives legal and compliance teams direct access to the files living inside your CRM, on a defensible, unified platform.
Why Connect Salesforce to Your eDiscovery Collections Platform
Most people think of Salesforce as a sales tool, but for legal and compliance teams, it's a critical data source. Customer records, contracts, uploaded documents, and business files stored inside Salesforce can become central to litigation, investigations, and regulatory inquiries. When that happens, waiting on IT or manual exports isn't an option.
The Onna + Salesforce Connector connects directly to the Salesforce Lightning API, giving your team immediate, structured access to files hosted in your Salesforce account, without disrupting business operations or relying on ad hoc processes.
Salesforce Connector Capabilities
The Onna + Salesforce Connector is designed to bring your CRM's file content into a defensible collection workflow.
Key capabilities include:
Direct connection via the Salesforce Lightning API
Audit logs for all collection activity
Tag-based collection controls
Support for one-time sync, auto-sync, and auto-sync and archive modes
File metadata preservation alongside collected content
These capabilities allow organizations to perform targeted collections from Salesforce or maintain ongoing archives of CRM file content.
What Data Can Be Collected from Salesforce
The connector captures files and associated metadata from Salesforce Lightning Enterprise accounts including:
Files & Content
All files hosted within the connected Salesforce account
Files filtered by selected tags
Metadata
File name
File ID
Author
File creation date
File last modified date
File size
File extension
These collections give investigators a structured, metadata-rich view of the files stored in Salesforce so relevant content can be identified and produced efficiently.
Note: Onna does not currently collect Salesforce Chatter data or support collections from Salesforce sandbox environments.
Salesforce Metadata Collected
Along with file content, the connector captures key Salesforce metadata fields including:
File name and file ID
Author
File creation and last modified dates
File size & extension
This metadata allows teams to establish file provenance, identify authors, and surface the most relevant documents within a Salesforce collection.
